The Barefoot at Havelock resort consists of 31 elegantly designed thatch tents, cottages and villas complete with spacious interiors, modern amenities and ensuite bathrooms. Constructed using environmentally sensitive indigenous materials, this is the first and only ecologically friendly resort in the Andaman Islands.
There is one fan-cooled Nicobari Cottage, one fan-cooled Duplex Cottage, nine air-conditioned Andaman Villas, eight air-conditioned Nicobari Villas and 12 air-conditioned Tented Cottages.
The fan-cooled Nicobari Cottage is constructed mainly out of materials like bamboo, wood and palm leaves. Bamboo matting shapes the walls, while the roof is created from thatch and local hardwood fashions the floors. The bathroom has 24-hour hot and cold water.
The air-conditioned Andaman Villas offer a large bed fronted by a floor-to-ceiling window offering a panoramic view of the tropical foliage and fruit trees. The bathrooms have a separate walk-in jungle shower with a clear glass view of the forest canopy. The bathroom skylight can be raised to allow fresh air into the villa. Complementing the villa is a large balcony, perfect for reading or simply enjoying the wildlife.
The quaint fan-cooled Duplex Cottage has an additional mezzanine floor with a low queen-size bed, low seating and low roofing. The Duplex Cottage is ideal for couples travelling with children or for a group of four people.
The fan-cooled Nicobari Villas have been designed to maximise the natural light and ventilation with large glass sliding doors and pivoted timber shutters, offering uninterrupted views of the lush exterior foliage. The Nicobari Villas are perfect for honeymooners and romantics.
The air-conditioned Tented Cottages are spacious, clean and simple, offering views over the garden. There is an outdoor seating area and bedroom with double bed (mosquito net provided) and pedestal fans to cool the room. The bedroom leads to a changing room complete with clothes rack, a luggage area, safe and a dressing mirror.
