The Serai, Kabini


The Serai Kabini is inspired by and located next to the Kabini River in southern India and was built in March 2011.The Kabini is home to Asia’s largest herd of elephants and more than 300 species of birds.Guests can trek into the evergreen forests or relax by the river at the waterfront verandahs.

Accommodation

There are 20 rooms at The Serai Kabini including 11 Waterfront Villas, eight Waterfront Verandahs and one Residence.

The Waterfront Villas have stone walls, wooden floors and tiled roofs with exquisitely decorated interiors. The Waterfront Verandahs are twin cottages with cosy warm wooden interiors, designer bathroom and outside area to sit and watch the wildlife. The Residence boasts a spacious bedroom, living room, two private verandahs and a Jacuzzi.

Access and suggested itineraries

The Serai Kabini is a five-hour drive or 250km from the Bangaluru International Airport, a two-hour drive from Mysuru and an hour’s drive from Ooty.

The resort can be included in any South Indian itinerary being well connected to Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mangalore

Dining

Wildgrass is a modern restaurant serving a variety of local and international dishes, both buffet and a la carte. Breakfast is served from 7.00am to 10.00am, lunch is from 12.30pm to 3.00pm and dinner is served from 7.30pm to 10.00pm. Guests can enjoy cocktails and after-dinner drinks at The Outpost, the open-air bar.

The Oma Spa – Oma meaning ‘life giver’ in Sanskrit – has a range of treatments for guests to choose from, all based on holistic and natural wellness.

‘Must do’ activities

Guests can join jungle and water safaris and kayaking on the Kabini River.
